 Swine Flu

Girl Scouts of the Desert Southwest wishes to make our Girl Scout public aware of the steps we will take to address the possibility of the swine flu, or any version of this strain, entering our community. We will continue to monitor the situation and make plans based upon the recommendations of the Texas and New Mexico Departments of State Health Services.  ( click here for more information....)

Camp Mitre Peak-  Camp Mitre Peak offers a wide variety of camping options from sheltered cabins to open primitive tent sites. Click her for photos of Camp Mitre Peak.

Troop Camping-Your troop can plan onsite activities or explore the surrounding area attractions, such as Big Bend National Park, Chihuahuan Desert Research Institute, Chinati Foundation, Fort Davis National Historic Site, Marfa Mystery Lights or McDonald’s Observatory to name a few.
 

2009 Resident Camp-Are you a girl who loves the great outdoors? Do you like to experience new things and make new friends? If so then we are waiting for you! Camp Mitre Peak welcomes all girls entering grades 1-12 to spend their summer with us, be it one week or all four

Facility Rentals-Camp Mitre Peak offers a wide variety of meeting space and housing options from sheltered cabins to open primitive tent sites. In addition, your group can plan onsite activities or explore the surrounding area attractions, such as Big Bend National Park, Chihuahuan Desert Research Institute, Chinati Foundation, Fort Davis National Historic Site, Marfa Mystery Lights or McDonald’s Observatory to name a few. Onsite activities can include archery, birdwatching, hiking, horseshoe pitching, horseback riding, outdoor cooking, rappelling, stargazing, swimming, or volleyball, depending on availability. Some activities have additional fees attached. If needed, an administration office with phones, fax, copier and high speed internet service is available.

Camp Summer Jobs-Camp Mitre Peak is looking for enthusiastic summer camp staff that love kids and enjoy the outdoors.All positions require years 18+ years of age or high school degree,except for the Program Director positions required age is 21 years old and Aid positions with a 15-17 year old range. Must be a team player, flexible and have a good attitude.
